Ealing Blues Fringe Festival, The Ealing Club, London, July 18, 2011
Cyril Davies and Alexis Korner moved to the Ealing Club in March 1962 with Blues Inc. Mick Jagger, Paul Jones … and many others joined them on stage and cut their teeth there. Six weeks later Cyril and Alexis moved on to a bigger venue, The Marquee. The Ealing Club was open for blues again almost 50 years after being home to the birth of the UK Blues Boom . Ali McKenzie joined Robert Hokum in the first of three nights organised by Alister Young. The video starts with Doc Stenson on harmonica. The concert is part of a campaign to get a Blue Plaque for the club and to publicise Ealing’s role in the British Blues boom and the birth of many rock bands. www.cyrildavies.com , www.ealingclub.com
