Ealing Blues Club Blue Plaque Unveiling
The Ealing Club was the place where Cyril Davies and Alexis Korner brought their group, Blues Incorporated for the first regular electric blues sessions. The Blue Plaque commemorates the 50th anniversary of their first evening sessions on 17 March 1962 – http://www.ealing-club.com/ealingclub/ The plaque was unveiled by Alexis Korner’s widow Bobbie. Charlie Watts, Andy Hoogenboom , Tom Robinson, ‘Whispering’ Bob Harris, The Mayor of Ealing and the MP for Ealing North, Stephen Pound attended the celebration. After a chance to meet old friends the unveiling took place followed by some live music. The day and the necessary fundraising was organised by Alastair Young, Bob Salmons and Marc Beard The live music was provided by Robert Hokum & The Guv’nors, The Bolaji Blues Band, Don Crane and Terry Marshal (sax)
