Ealing Club Fundraiser Part One (Nov 2011)
50 years ago Cyril Davies and Alexis Korner started a weekly R&B night at the Ealing Club opposite Ealing Broadway Station in London with their band, Blues Incorporated.. It was the start of the UK blues boom as it attracted lots of the youngsters who were to become the starts of the future and it was the place where the Rolling Stones started their career. The money raised will produce a Blue Plaque to commemorate this time at the Ealing Blues Club and its place in the history of blues music and the London Borough of Ealing. It will be presented at the Club in a concert in July 2012. The musicians who performed on the night were Robert Hokum – Guitar, Steve King – Bass, Russell Chaney – Drums, “Doc” Stenson – Harp, Lally – Guitar, with vocals from Loretta Johnson and Norrie Burnett. – Ramon Goose and Dave Peabody – Guitar/Vocals played a set with Chris Belshaw,Bass and Russell Chaney,Drums. Plus X on keyboards. The Geoff Garbow Band – Robert Handley drums, Maurizio Della Pietra Bass, Christian Parker guitar, guest guitarist Geoff Peel, Kenny Mann harmonica plus by guitarist / singer Mike Blommer & drummer Glenn Velardi of the Bad News Blues Band from Tucson Arizona.
